'The Joy of Making'
I have a prevalent running theme of wearable curiosities. I ask myself questions like 'How could you wear a Marshmallow?' and 'How do you capture moonlight in your pocket?' I use colour, light, texture and narrative to explore these themes, keeping natural curiosity at the centre of my work. I use predominantly metal materials and silver-smithing techniques, but sometimes my projects take me in other directions. I've experimented with silicone, polyurethane foam, ceramics and textiles in past works. Playfulness is important to me and I believe craft should be used as a way to explore our emotions. |
